Yesterday was Harsh and Sonal’s Vidhi. The Vidhi is a series of rituals that prepares the bride and groom for and blesses their wedding ceremony, which normally takes place the following day. There was SO MUCH going on, it was hard to pick which images I wanted to post. One thing that I did find amusing is that attendees of the Vidhi, especially the grooms’, REALLY like to take pictures!! I found myself photographing the guests photographing Harsh. I especially love the image of the gentleman below. He is 91 years old and his focus when taking pictures was laser sharp. The day was filled with ritual and tradition and I am very excited to see what kind of images we come up with today at the wedding ceremony. Their wedding ceremony is taking place at the Weymouth Country Club in Medina, Ohio.

Sonal’s Mehndi – cleveland wedding photographers
Yesterday was Sonal’s Mehndi or Henna celebration. The Mehndi is a celebration where henna is applied to the bride and bridesmaids hands and feet (popular since the late Bronze Age). The ornate designs symbolize blessings, luck as well as joy and beauty. This is day one of a three day Hindu celebration that continues tomorrow with the Vihdi Ceremony (more on that tomorrow) and ultimately culminates on Saturday with the wedding ceremony. Here are a few images from Sonal’s Mehndi.
Kevin and Sarah’s Akron Wedding and Firestone Country Club Reception
What a day! Perfect weather; a crazy cool couple and bridal party. Kevin and Sarah were married yesterday! The day started with Sarah getting her hair and make up done at Hair Ink in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Then it was onto St. Francis Church in Akron, Ohio for the ceremony. After the ceremony, we traveled with the bridal party to the Akron Civic Theater for a raucous session there. Then onto the Barely House in downtown Akron. Kevin and Sarah, literally, met for the very first time there so it was a completely appropriate stop (not to mention a great spot for the bridal party to, um, wet their whistles
Then finally on to the Firestone Country Club for the reception. The Beach Boyz Entertainment did their usual excellent job keeping everyone on the floor until the very end of the night and doing the photo booth thing. Kevin and Sarah proved that Spencer Photography Inc. really does have THE BEST clients. They were fun, accommodating with my creative whims (ask Sarah where the “red wall” portrait below was taken). It was an honor to be a part of their day and we want to thank them, their families and their bridal party for be so great. Here are a few images from yesterday. Be sure to leave Kevin and Sarah some love by commenting below.
Sarah’s Firestone Country Club Bridal Session
Today Sarah is getting married. We had her bridal session at the Firestone Country Club, the site of her wedding reception. From her Jimmy Choo’s to her overall awesome personality, I knew after her session that should do great on her wedding day and I am excited to see what we come up with. Here are a few images from her bridal session.
Matt and Tera’s Cleveland Ohio Photo session
Yesterday, Matt and Tera braved the sweltering heat to meet me in downtown Cleveland for their engagement session. They will be getting married in October at Trinity United Methodist in Sandusky, Ohio with their reception to follow at the Colonnade in Milan. I knew from the first images that the session would go well and boy did it ever. We perused around the Key Center area searching for perfect bits of light (our quest for light). I love how there are reflections from the sun hitting different areas around the buildings. We decided to go inside the Key Center Marriott to cool off and to see what we could come up with. As luck would have it, they was a professional ballroom dance competition upstairs (Tera is a former dancer). If this session is any indication as to how their wedding day will go, then October better hurry up and get here! Here are a few images from the session. Be sure to leave Matt and Tera a comment, below.

We caught a spot of light reflecting off of building (above)
These were some of the outfits at the dance competition
Josh and Jennifer’s engagement session redux – cleveland wedding photography
The other day, I met with Josh and Jennifer to plan out their wedding day, which is next month with the wedding ceremony taking place at St. Augustine in Barberton, Ohio and their reception to follow at Chenoweth Country Club in Akron, Ohio. We had planned on having a photo session after their wedding planning session, but the weather was terrible. We did get a chance to do a few images but we decided to try again when it was not raining. So, we gave their engagement session another go yesterday. It was sunny and dry, if not a bit hot, but Josh and Jennifer did great. I am looking forward to their wedding day next month. Here are a few of their engagement images from yesterday. I have a mixture of black and white and sepia images…just because.
Josh and Jennifer’s Rainy Day Engagement session
Yesterday, I met with Josh and Jennifer to plan out their wedding day and to have a short photo session. We figured since we were together, why not continue to prepare for their wedding day by having a photo session after their planning session. They will be getting married next month at St. Augustine in Barberton, Ohio with their reception to follow at Chenoweth Country Club. Well, the weather was far from perfect. When I showed up for their wedding day planning session it was raining. However, about 45 minutes later, after we finished discussing their wedding day details, the rain had stopped. So, we decided to go ahead and create a few images. It was very brief, but we have some great images. Here are just a few.
Patrick and Laura’s Caro’s Party Center Wedding
Yesterday was Patrick and Laura’s wedding day. It was a hot but great one. The day started early with Laura getting her hair done at Elysian Salon and Spa in Brunswick, Ohio. Then it was on to Laura’s fathers house for make up and portraits. We have to thank Laura’s dad for opening his home to the bridesmaids and to me, allowing me to do anything that I needed to for the best images possible. We also have to mention Laura’s maid of honor, Jessica (or as I will for now on refer to her as the maid of iron) Jessica was extremely ill yesterday, so much so that she had to go to Urgent Care in the morning. But, she showed up at the salon, stayed thru most of the reception and didn’t complain once. THAT is a true friend. The ceremony and reception were at Caro’s Party Center in Hinckley, Ohio. They are set up perfectly for a wedding (even the gazebo is perfectly placed for the best light throughout the day). Kerry McCullough of Final Touch Entertainment ran very smooth reception and kept the dance floor full all night. Thank you to Patrick and Laura for the honor of allowing us to participate in your day. Thank you also to their wedding party and all of the family members for being cooperative and easy to get along with. Here are a few images from the day. Be sure to leave Patrick and Laura a comment below.
A few more from Matt and Andrea’s Canton Wedding and University Center Reception
Here are a few more images from Matt and Andrea’s Canton Ohio wedding ceremony and their reception at the University Center at the Kent State Stark Campus. I could probably post a hundred more images from their wedding day. Everything really was perfect. It does help that Matt is in the wedding industry, though.
Matt and Andrea’s Wedding and University Center at Kent Reception
Yesterday was Matt and Andrea’s wedding day. I was especially excited for this day for several reasons. First, Matt is the brother of my assistant, Renee, and she was in the wedding. Secondly, Matt is, himself, in the wedding industry and is the owner of R&S Productions, so it’s great to have the honor of photographing the wedding of someone who is in the industry. Thirdly, I consider Matt, Andrea and Renee friends so it was important for me to be on top of things all day. The day started with Andrea getting ready in one of the suites at Gervasi Vineyard in Canton, Ohio. Then it was onto the church for the ceremony. We stopped briefly in downtown Canton, then it was back to Gervasi for more images there. The reception took place at The University Center at Kent. Entertainment was provided by Nick at Big Ear Entertainment; photo booth provided by Elite Photo Booth of Ohio. Rock the House Entertainment provided the lighting for the reception site, and I have to say, they did fabulous. The room wasn’t carelessly flooded with color but had just the right amount of light throughout the room
The day went without a hitch. Everyone was on time and that gave me a ton of time to do what I do. The night ended at Gervasi (I was the honorary chauffeur to Matt and Andrea) . It was especially difficult to pick my favorites since I have so many, but I wanted to get the blog up before Matt and Andrea left for their honeymoon on Monday. Thank you to Matt and Andrea for trusting me with your day and to the bridal party, the Reisinger’s and Doria’s for being so accommodating. Also, thank you to Sarah Gribble for filling in for Renee and Danaé Behr , of Behr Photography, for lending a hand as well. They did outstanding yesterday considering they went from the frying pan to the fire. I will say that I definitely missed having Renee there but I’m quite certain she enjoyed being on the other side of the camera (and to not have me barking at her all day.) Be sure to leave a comment for Matt and Andrea below. Here are a few images from the day.
