Yesterday the snow was coming down and winter was definitely in the 20 degree air. So much so, that it inspired me to get a bride in it. Many of my past clients volunteered (a fact that I will definitely be taking up in the near future) but my past bridal client, Jennifer was the one to do it. Jennifer had told me not long after her wedding this past year that she wanted to do a “trash the dress” session. I let her know that, if we were going to do it, the conditions had to be just right. Yesterday, they were just right. The session wasn’t so much as “trash the dress” as it was “dress MIGHT get trashed”. The cold was the biggest factor and Jennifer didn’t complain…not once (because, like all of my clients, she is bad a-s). For the images that I had in mind, I wanted a surreal quality to them. Falling snow was part of that vision, but part way thru the session it stopped snowing. I did overexpose the back lighting but, to me, this was to give Jennifer’s veil, and Jennifer herself, an angelic-like quality (Eee!! Did I just say that?!). It was good to push the limits of my equipment in the cold weather and it was invigorating just to be doing it. Thank you SO much to Jennifer for being more than perfect.
