Mark, Sandy and Cody redux – cleveland wedding photographers

Well we FINALLY were given the perfect weather conditions for Mark, Sandy and Cody’s Akron family portrait session. Mark and Sandy’s first engagement session was in the middle of winter when it was, literally, 19 degrees outside…and they MEANT for it to be in the cold!!! (see it -here- ). When we scheduled a photo session that would include Cody, it was cold and rainy -here- . We got what we could but decided that we needed to have a photo session when it was more comfortable. We met this time in downtown Akron and it was just beautiful outside. The sun was shining giving us ample opportunities for different lighting techniques. After this session, I have no doubt the Mark and Sandy and, especially Cody, are ready for their big day. They will be getting married in the Akron area with their wedding reception at Guy’s Party Center. Here are a few images from yesterday. The Many Faces of Cody – cleveland family portraits, cleveland wedding photographers

Last week, I had a chance to meet Cody. Cody is the son of Mark and stepson of Sandy, who are my bridal clients. The week leading up to the session, the weather was perfect; sunny and mild. But, in typical Ohio fashion, on the day of the session, it was cold, windy and raining just a bit. Not the ideal conditions for a photo session, especially with a precocious four year old. But, we decided to push forward anyway. This really was an opportunity that I didn’t immediately recognize until I started editing the session. That is when I saw the many faces of Cody. He is quite the little character and that comes across in the images. Mark and Sandy will be getting married in June in Tallmadge with their wedding reception at Guy’s Party Center in Akron. I am looking forward to their wedding day and, especially, ready to see what Cody will have to offer us that day. The Clark Family – cleveland photographers

Sunday I had the extreme pleasure of photographing the Clark family with their newest addition, McKenzie. Andrew and Natalie Clark are past bridal clients. They were married in 2010 and I had the honor of being their wedding photographer. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to Houston, Texas. That is why I was excited when they contacted me about doing a session during their trip home to Ohio to visit family for the holidays. It is always great to see past bridal clients starting their families. It was wonderful seeing everyone again and would like to thank Andrew, Natalie and their families for allowing me to document another milestone in their lives. Here are a few images from the session. The DeShon Akron Family Portrait Session – cleveland photographers

I am primarily a wedding photographer. But I will still do family portraits, senior portraits ect. And, more and more, as my bridal clients start families, I am doing more family portrait sessions. The DeShon family is a prime example of this. I have known Lauren for quite some time and met Matt when they booked me for their wedding back in 2007. I have since done their maternity sessions; their first and second newborn session; and recently their third family portrait session. I love being able to stay in touch with my bridal clients and I especially love watching them start their families and then watching their families grow. It is also quite an honor to capture the important moments in their lives so that they can look back and remember.

The Hawkins Family Portrait Session – cleveland portrait photographers

Yesterday, Eddie, Sam and Max (aka Mr. Smiles) braved the cold and over an hour drive to meet me at historic Hale Farm and Village for their first family portrait session with me. Eddie and Sam are past bridal clients of mine. They were married on 7/7/07, the most popular date of the decade (has it been THAT long already?!!)! I’ve kept in touch with them and, thanks especially to Facebook, I’ve been able to keep up with Max, who is almost two years old. I FINALLY was able to meet the little guy at my clients Tera and Matt’s wedding, in which Sam was Tera’s matron of honor. Sam is prolific in posting pictures of Max on Facebook, and he is ALWAYS smiling (hence, Mr. Smiles). I am extremely happy to have finally gotten to photograph all of them together and look forward to watching Max grow up. Here are a few images from the session. Maddy’s Akron Senior Portrait Session – cleveland senior portrait photographers

Yesterday was Maddy’s senior year portrait session. Maddy is a senior at  Lake High School in Hartville, Ohio. Maddy wanted something different than the usual “senior portraits”  and I think that that is exactly what we got. We simply let the sunlight be our guide, following it wherever it took us (every image from the session, except the night images, are direct or reflected sunlight). She did wonderfully and I want to thank her, her mom and their friend Suzi for their assistance and a great session. Yesterday evening I met with Justin, Madison and Melanie for their senior portrait session. Three separate seniors, you ask? All in one session, you ask? THAT’S RIGHT!! After speaking with Justin and Madison’s mom, Terri, we decided that , based on what they wanted, it would be beneficial to do all three session at the same! The session went great, Justin, Madison and Melanie were great. We had some great suggestions from their parents. The weather was perfect. Justin and Madison will be seniors at Barberton High School and Melanie will be a senior at Norton High School.  I will be posting three separate posts for each of them. Tyler’s Akron Senior Portraits – Cleveland Senior Portrait Photography

Yesterday evening I met Tyler, his mom, Christine, and his step-mom, Julie, in downtown Akron for Tyler’s senior portrait session (all of our sessions are on location, rather than in a studio). When your client shows up with multiple changes of clothing (which we never limit) in a garment bag, you know you have your work cut out for you. But, Tyler was great. He allowed me to do my thing, which at times can seem unusual, and he was very enthusiastic about getting something different, which I am ALL about. One challenge for me was to get an image of Tyler with his trumpet, but do it in a way that was…cool. I’ll let you decide if we succeeded. Tyler will be a senior at Wadsworth High School this year and I want to wish him the best. Here are just a few of the images from the session. Chagrin Falls Photography – Cleveland Wedding Photographers

Last night I had the opportunity to witness the Chagrin Falls Balloon Glow. This is an annual event put on in the city of Chagrin Falls, Ohio and sponsored by the Chagrin Valley Jaycees. It is festival type atmosphere culminating in a number of hot air balloons (on this evening there were nine) igniting their propane tanks to create a pretty impressive site. I usually don’t take my professional equipment to a night with friends but this was a definite photographic opportunity that I HAD to take advantage of. There were a ton of people present and the whole night had a family friendly vibe that was just great. Thank you to our friends Alex and Brandi Hamerstone for inviting us and thank you to my girl, Marie, for putting up with my photo obsession.

We would like to congratulate our senior portrait client, Breanne Townsen, for being elected Senior Class President at Barberton High School in Barberton, Ohio. It couldn’t have happened to a better person and the class of 2013 at Barberton is well represented. Congratulations Bree!!
