Being a Cleveland wedding photographer, it is nice to sometimes have the opportunity to participate in an out of town wedding. On Sunday, I had the opportunity to photograph Eli and Karlee’s wedding in Cincinnati. The wedding and reception took place at Karlee’s uncle’s farm. The rural setting was great. As I said, being a Cleveland wedding photographer, I am used to a more urban setting, so the wide open country space was a fantastic change of pace for me. The day was a bit chilly and windy, which posed a challenge, especially for the wedding party, but all went perfectly. Eli and Karlee were just perfect. Kind, accommodating and just a pleasure to work with. I want to thank them, their families and their wedding party for being so awesome. This is part one of a two part blog post. As a Cleveland wedding photographer, one of the things that I like to do with my wedding clients is have a photography session with them before their wedding day (I usually insist on one). If my clients wish to have more than one engagement session I will do it and it is included in our wedding photography service. The better prepared they are for their wedding day, the better they will DO on their wedding day. This was Dave and Ashlee’s second session before their May wedding in Cleveland and reception at Michaud’s in Strongsville. I have to say, they are definitely ready for their wedding day. Yesterday I met Vince and Lisa in Akron’s Merriman Valley for their engagement session. They will be getting married this month with their wedding and reception at Todaro’s Party Center in the Valley. The day was absolutely gorgeous. Sunny and just the right temperature for an engagement session in Akron. We drove around just looking for the right light combined with the textures of nature. They both did fantastic and I am looking forward to their wedding and reception at Todaro’s. Here are a few images from the session. Well we FINALLY were given the perfect weather conditions for Mark, Sandy and Cody’s Akron family portrait session. Mark and Sandy’s first engagement session was in the middle of winter when it was, literally, 19 degrees outside…and they MEANT for it to be in the cold!!! (see it -here- ). When we scheduled a photo session that would include Cody, it was cold and rainy -here- . We got what we could but decided that we needed to have a photo session when it was more comfortable. We met this time in downtown Akron and it was just beautiful outside. The sun was shining giving us ample opportunities for different lighting techniques. After this session, I have no doubt the Mark and Sandy and, especially Cody, are ready for their big day. They will be getting married in the Akron area with their wedding reception at Guy’s Party Center. Here are a few images from yesterday. On Sunday, I met Vytas and Berta on the west bank of the Flats in downtown Cleveland for their photo session. They will be having their wedding and reception at The Club at Hillbrook. Since their wedding site is more rural than urban, they decided that this session would be as urban as possible. Not many other areas in downtown Cleveland meet that criteria better than the west bank of the Flats. It was a blustery day, and our biggest challenge was handling the wind. We worked with it and accomplished our goal. Vytas and Berta are great in front of the camera and their wedding at The Club at Hillbrook should be fantastic. Yesterday was Glenn and Elena’s wedding. The day started with…snow (Only in Ohio!). I met Elena at the Spa at Springfield for her hair and make up. It was then on to her parents house to finish getting ready; do some pictures; then her and Glenn would see each other for the first time, right there. The ceremony was at St. Adalbert in Berea, Ohio followed by the reception at the Cleveland Airport Marriott. Glenn and Elena decided to see each other before the ceremony in order to take full advantage of their cocktail hour and reception. All of the wedding pictures, for the most part, were finished before the wedding ceremony. One of the funniest moments happened at the reception. There was a little league baseball team staying at the hotel and while we approached the lobby for some final images we noticed that they were having a pizza party right in the lobby. So Glenn and Elena suggested that we do a picture with them. The result is below. Glenn and Elena will be leaving for their honeymoon early tomorrow morning, so I wanted to get some images from their wedding day on the blog for them to see before they leave. Yesterday I was able to officially meet Eric and Carolyn for the first time during their engagement session. They will be getting married in August at the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge with their reception at Guy’s Party Center. They live in Florida and were in town for some wedding planning so we met up for their engagement session. We met in downtown Akron near the Akron Art Museum next to Musica at Urban Eats (yummy stuff there!) The day was beautiful and the weather was perfect. So, what do we do? We start our session indoors at Musica!! The light in there was beautiful and I just couldn’t resist. Like everyone that steps in front of the camera for the first time, they were a little apprehensive, but that quickly changed. Eric and Carolyn were fantastic and the camera just loves them. A photo session at sunset. That was the goal of Kyle and Hannah. They will be getting married in June at Olmsted Falls Community Church with their wedding reception at Avon Oaks Country Club. For their sunset photo session we met at Huntington Beach in Bay Village. After getting some various images around the Huntington Beach area, it was time. And, as usual, the Cleveland sunset didn’t disappoint. The sky was on FIRE! It was the perfect way to prepare for Kyle and Hannah’s wedding day and I am looking forward to June.
