This past Saturday was Harsh and Sonal’s wedding day. I posted some images from the first part of their day and some of their Hindu wedding ceremony rituals -here-. In this blog post, I am posting some portraits and some images from later on at the reception at the Weymouth Country Club in Medina Ohio. Be sure to leave Harsh and Sonal a comment below and remember to “Like” Spencer Photography Inc. on Facebook.

Harsh and Sonal’s Hindu Wedding – cleveland wedding photographers
Yesterday was Harsh and Sonal’s Hindu wedding ceremony. The day started early at Sonal’s parents house where Sonal got ready. Then it was onto Weymouth Country Club for the ceremony and the reception. The ceremony started with the Vara Satkaarah which is a reception for the groom at the entrance of the hall. Harsh arrived by horseback and the guests danced in front of him for over thirty minutes until Harsh dismounted to join them all. After blessings the bride and groom officially see each other for the first time at the hall entrance (Harsh and Sonal did have a first look prior). The ceremony contains many important rituals (the reading of the vows was especially entertaining thanks to…well, the vows themselves and Harsh’s delivery). There was far too much going on for me to effectively display the entire story on the blog. I have picked images that best reflect the day but I still cannot do it in one blog, So, there will be multiple blog posts from Harsh and Sonal’s Hindu wedding day. Thank you to Harsh and Sonal for the honor of photographing their day. Thank you also to the families who were so nice and accommodating all weekend and especially to Sonal’s parants who opened their home to hundreds of people and were wonderful hosts. Here are just few images from the day. Be sure to leave Harsh and Sonal a comment below and remember to “Like” Spencer Photography Inc. on Facebook.
Harsh and Sonal’s Vidhi – cleveland wedding photography
Yesterday was Harsh and Sonal’s Vidhi. The Vidhi is a series of rituals that prepares the bride and groom for and blesses their wedding ceremony, which normally takes place the following day. There was SO MUCH going on, it was hard to pick which images I wanted to post. One thing that I did find amusing is that attendees of the Vidhi, especially the grooms’, REALLY like to take pictures!! I found myself photographing the guests photographing Harsh. I especially love the image of the gentleman below. He is 91 years old and his focus when taking pictures was laser sharp. The day was filled with ritual and tradition and I am very excited to see what kind of images we come up with today at the wedding ceremony. Their wedding ceremony is taking place at the Weymouth Country Club in Medina, Ohio.
Sonal’s Mehndi – cleveland wedding photographers
Yesterday was Sonal’s Mehndi or Henna celebration. The Mehndi is a celebration where henna is applied to the bride and bridesmaids hands and feet (popular since the late Bronze Age). The ornate designs symbolize blessings, luck as well as joy and beauty. This is day one of a three day Hindu celebration that continues tomorrow with the Vihdi Ceremony (more on that tomorrow) and ultimately culminates on Saturday with the wedding ceremony. Here are a few images from Sonal’s Mehndi.
