Matt, Erin and Max’s Akron family portrait session

Today I had the wonderful honor of meeting Max Adams (I love that name! It’s like a superhero or a super spy) Max is the son of Matt and Erin Adams. I photographed Matt and Erin’s wedding this past year in Massillon, Ohio (see it here). I offer all of our bridal clients one complimentary session per year. I do this for a few reasons. First, and most importantly, it allows me to stay in touch with my bridal clients. It also is a added benefit to having us as your wedding photographer. When I photograph a family and, especially a baby, my whole focus is on connection. No gimmicks; not too many props (if any at all); no funky distorting angles or dangling babies from trees (??!!). Too many photographers nowadays are using the baby as an accessory. An actual connection and expressions of love are getting lost in the fads of the day (not to mention technicalities such as direction of light). So, simplicity is always my rule of thumb. It was important for Matt and Erin to reflect Matt’s military service and love of country, so some of the images have that in mind. I want to thank Matt, Erin and little Max for allowing me this honor. Here are a few images:
