From time to time I will get fellow professional photographers requesting one on one training with them to help them improve particular areas of their own photography. As a Cleveland wedding photographer, it is great to do these training sessions so that I can share the knowledge that I have acquired as a professional wedding photographer and portrait photographer. It’s is especially exciting, because it forces me to push the boundaries of my own knowledge by making me communicate that knowledge so that another professional photographer can easily understand. On Sunday, I spent the day with Kristy Steeves of Kristy Steeves Photography. Kristy had two of her clients, Tyra and Morgan, to model for us and we spent the day focused on natural light, posing and exposure. Light and exposure are THE two most important ingredients for a successful portrait so I really wanted to get Kristy to concentrate on those two things in particular. Most of our approach was focused on senior portrait photography since Tyra and Morgan are seniors in high school. They were both fantastic and Kristy is as lucky to have them as clients as they are to have her as their senior portrait photographer. It was a pleasure to share what I know with Kristy and I hope that she got as much out of the day as I did. Here are a few images that I captured during the day.
